A Wirral man who won nearly £600 on EuroMillions lottery has said he will never play again after having to wait nearly two months to receive his winnings.
After learning of his win, Pete Daly, 71, decided to pay off his car insurance for the month with the cash he had on hand, as he had been told he would receive his lottery payment within 10 days.
However, after 33 days, there was still no sign of the money. "I was thinking it would keep me afloat for the month," he told the Liverpool Echo. "I’m stuck in the house, I can't afford to go anywhere, I can’t afford the waste of fuel.
I need this money, I’m struggling, money is the difference to being able to live. It sorts me to be able to live, not living well, but living." Thankfully, EuroMillions has now paid Pete and he has been able to enjoy his winnings with new shoes and a haircut at last.
