A killer who 'mercilessly' stabbed a mother-of-two to death while she screamed and pleaded for her life for over an hour has been jailed for life.
Brian David Manship will serve a minimum of 20 years behind bars after admitting the killing of 38-year-old Sarah Hassall. Her body was found in the defendant's terraced house in Pontypridd, on the morning of October 6, last year.
On Friday January 17, Manship pleaded guilty to her murder when he appeared at the crown court for a brief hearing. A court heard how he stabbed his victim 22 times in a “savage, sustained and merciless” attack in his home after meeting her hours earlier in a pub.
