Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has opened up on the persistent injury problem which has dogged him this season. The 26-year-old has been forced to step back from first-team responsibilities on various occasions throughout the campaign, leaving Eric Bailly or Axel Tuanzebe to partner Harry Maguire in United's defence.

But rather than take an extended break to try and resolve the issue, Lindelof is intent on pushing through the pain barrier in order to play a part in United's quest for silverware. "Yeah I’ve been struggling a bit with my back.

I’ve been having it for the last couple of months," Lindelof told United’s official website. “I missed a few games as well and I am just trying to manage it in a good way.
