Paul Parker has branded Manchester United’s treatment of Donny van de Beek a disgrace. And he believes the young Dutchman is the player to kick-start United again – by teaming up with Bruno Fernandes in a rejigged midfield.
Van de Beek, signed for £39million from Ajax in the summer, has featured in only 26 of United’s 42 games so far this season – mostly from the bench.
It’s been claimed the 23-year-old star can’t play in the same team as Fernandes – but Parker says that’s rubbish. “I can’t understand why United can’t get him on the pitch,” said the former United defender. “It’s an absolute waste and I don’t understand what’s going on.
