Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have insisted that he was happy with his defensive options in the summer, but it appears Man Utd will look to strengthen in that area when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.
United's decision to focus their efforts on boosting their attack instead came in for some criticism earlier this season - notably after the 6-1 drubbing against Tottenham, which laid bare their frailties at the back.
Since then, United have been on an upward curve, though the same problems are underlying. Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have both shown marked improvements to adequately fulfil the centre-back duties alongside captain Harry Maguire.
