Both sides are in a good position to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition, with a mini tournament taking place in Germany between August 10-21.
The new Premier League season is due to commence on September 12, but according to The Athletic it was agreed that each club should have a minimum of a 30 day break before the start of the campaign.
That would mean that if United or Wolves made it all the way to the final, they would not play their first Premier League game until September 21 at the earliest.
