Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has hailed Raphael Varane, who has signed from Real Madrid this summer. The France international had been a top target at Old Trafford with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to bring a defender to the club.
With the Red Devils coach not fully keen on either Victor Lindelof or Eric Bailly, he wanted to partner Maguire with someone more reliable.
The arrival of Varane will surely be a huge boost to United, with the former Madrid star a major coup at around £40m.He joins as one of the best defenders in the world having won four Champions League trophies, three La Liga titles and the World Cup.
