FC Lorient goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo has insisted he rejected Manchester United's approach to sign him during Erik ten Hag's tenure as he wanted to go to a club that could win titles.
During Ten Hag's stint at United, the Reds won the League and FA Cups. However, battling for the Premier League was a much harder task which would eventually cost the Dutchman his job.
Another tough challenge was revamping United's goalkeeper department. It became clear quickly that David de Gea did not fit the vision for Ten Hag and there was a severe lack of back-up options to provide cover too. The Swiss had spent a couple of years on loan at PSV Eindhoven when he was offered the chance to join United in the summer of 2022.
