Manchester United have lodged a new bid for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The Red Devils, who failed with their opening £38million plus £5m in add-ons offer for the 21-year-old last month, are hoping to add another centre-back to their ranks this summer.
Branthwaite is right at the top of their shopping list after impressing for the Toffees last season. And according to the Daily Mail, United have made a second proposal in the region of £45m plus £5m in add-ons for Branthwaite.
Everton are likely to reject that offer, as they value him at close to £75m. However, the latest bid could unsettle the England international, who is understood to be interested in the prospect of moving to Old Trafford if both clubs can agree on a deal.
He has three years left on his contract at Goodison Park.
