Gary Neville has shared his pleasure at seeing Liverpool suffer their first defeat of the season, having witnessed Manchester United beating Southampton 3-0 earlier on Saturday.
The day was made even better for the Salford City FC stakeholder, who watched the Ammies defeat Cheltenham 2-1 in their 3pm League Two clash.
The win for United is only their second in four fixtures but it took them into the top half of the Premier League table. A few hours later, Arne Slot tasted his first defeat as Liverpool head coach thanks to Callum Hudson-Odoi’s long-range effort for Forest.
It means United and Liverpool are now only separated by three points despite their differing starts to the season.
