Man United icon Edwin van der Sar breaks silence on brain haemorrhage horror and next job plans

Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has opened up about his health scare last year and hinted that a return to football is on the cards for him in the future.

In July 2023, while holidaying in Croatia, Van der Sar suffered a brain haemorrhage and was rushed to intensive care. After a fortnight in hospital, the Dutchman began to make a recovery.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Van der Sar has opened up on exactly what happened on that fateful day. "I woke up and it was the first day of the holiday and we planned to leave that day [for a trip]," he explained.
