Ruben Amorim insists it will not be "embarrassing" for Manchester United if Marcus Rashford regains form for Aston Villa. Rashford, 27, is on the verge of completing a loan to Villa for the rest of the season, having not played for United since December 12.
Despite the United forward's matchday squad exile stretching to 13 games, he has still scored more Premier League goals than £108.5million strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Hojlund and Zirkzee were both dropped for the 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday as Amorim trialled Kobbie Mainoo as a false nine. "Humiliating?" Amorim asked in response to a question on Rashford's imminent transfer to Villa. "It’s not embarrassing. "When you loan a player - and I don’t think it’s official - you expect him to play and to improve, so there is nothing humiliating there. "I understand the question but I am just focused on my players, that’s all.
When the window closes, I will be really focused on just our team and to improve our team." Villa will pay a loan fee, cover the majority of Rashford's £325,000-a-week salary and have the option to buy the England international in the summer.
