Man United co-owner Avram Glazer 'fails' to buy new club as Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans huge changes

Glazer is claimed to have tried to secure a stake in the Los Angeles-based club, which currently sits 11th in the NWSL. The 63-year-old is one of six members of the Glazer family who hold shares in United, although they recently profited from a 25 per cent sale of the club to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Unnamed sources familiar with the discussions told The Athletic that Glazer had pursued a stake in Angel City. However, he was outbid by Disney CEO Bob Iger and his wife Willow Bay, who are reportedly close to purchasing control of the club. The current valuation of Angel City is estimated at $250m (£197.5m) and it's reported that Iger and Bay are set to invest more than $50m (£39.5m) to take control from the club's largest shareholder and Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian, although he reportedly does not control the board.
