Police were called to a section of the motorway at around 8.50am this morning (Wednesday) to reports of concern for the welfare of a man.
All traffic was diverted via an exit slip road while the man was taken down to safety. Drivers were asked to find an alternative route during the incident, with queues forming.
The road eventually reopened an hour later at around 9.50am. The man did not need hospital treatment, a spokesman for NWAS confirmed.
