A man has admitted drunken assault on a long-haul flight - but couldn't attend court as he's setting up a Covid mega lab for the government.

Amerjit Singh Cheema, 43, was initially accused of sexually assaulting a woman he was sitting next to on a BA flight from Mumbai to London Heathrow in January.

At an earlier hearing at Ealing Magistrates' Court the court was told that Cheema stroked her bare leg with his foot at the airport before they boarded.

It was then said the woman felt so uncomfortable by his behaviour that she hid in the aircraft's toilet on the flight. But as she crossed the aisle, it was alleged drunken Cheema leaned out and stroked her again with his foot and elbow.
