Man rushed to hospital after 'serious assault' in Scots street as forensics lockdown scene

A man has been rushed to hospital following a 'serious assault' in Paisley.Emergency services raced to Caledonia Street in Paisley after the alarm was raised at around 1.40pm on Friday.Officers were responding to reports that a man had been seriously assaulted.Ambulance crews attended and the man was rushed to hospital for treatment.

His condition is currently unknown.Police remain in attendance and a number of surrounding roads are still cordoned off while police carry out enquiries at the scene.Pictures taken from the scene showed forensic officers combing the scene while a blue forensic tent was erected outside flats on the street.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Friday, July 14, 2023, officers were called to a report of a serious assault on Caledonia Street, Paisley.“A man was taken to hospital for treatment.
