A man has been rescued by fishermen after spending 36 hours at sea clinging to the tip of a capsized boat. The Jamaican man, whose name has not been made public, was the sole survivor of a group of seven who were heading to the US from Bimini, Bahamas, on a boat that capsized on Wednesday.

A fishing crew operating off the coast of Florida spotted the man on radar and came to his rescue. Captain Chase Cornell, the skipper of the Southern Eagle, explained how their early morning deep-sea fishing trip on Friday became a dramatic rescue mission. “For us to cross paths, it was nothing short of a miracle,” Cornell told ABC News.
