The cyclist, a 48-year-old man, was struck by a car on Kippax Street at around 5pm on Saturday (August 28). He was rushed to hospital but sadly died a short time later, police said.
A man, aged 53, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene following the fatal collision.
