A violent thug assaulted a man in an 'unprovoked' attack at a train station in GlasgowDaniel Dolan, 53, was left with fractured bones on his face and a dislocated shoulder after the man launched the attack at Possilpark Station in the city at around 3:20pm yesterday, Friday, February 21.Emergency crews scrambled to the scene and Daniel was rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.Speaking to the Record, his niece Sheryl said Daniel was 'lucky to be alive' following the terrifying incident.

The 36-year-old explained: "My uncle got on the train at Ashfield station which is one stop before Possilpark and this man came over and sat down next to him. "He started rambling and accusing my uncle of breaking into houses in the area, but my uncle is a quiet man and keeps himself to himself so he just tried to diffuse the situation. "Daniel got up and tried to get off but the man started to punch at him on the train before it stopped at Possilpark.

The doors opened and this thug followed my uncle off and just relentlessly attacked him."He was punching at his face and then when my uncle fell he started stamping on his head.

He could easily have killed him and he is lucky to have survived the attack."My uncle has COPD and suffers from brittle bones so he isn't in great health and this could have been much worse." After leaving Daniel lying in a bloodied heap on the platform of the station, Sheryl said the man ran off in the direction of Lambhill.Staff at the train station told Sheryl that the man who attacked her uncle was around 40/50 year's old with a pale complexion and was wearing a Canada Goose jacket.Sheryl said she will be forever grateful to the police officers who were first at the scene following the attack.
