A man was killed at a baby shower party after a gender reveal cannon reportedly exploded spraying shrapnel. Heartbroken friends and relatives have since paid tribute to Evan Silva, 26, who was fatally injured after the blast at a home in Michigan, US.
The victim was said to be standing near to where the cannon’s fuse was lit during the party. ABC News reports that it was supposed to create a large flash, as well as noise and smoke.
Investigators said, however, that the celebration ended in an instant when the cannon, which was meant to signal the child's new arrival, exploded into the crowd instead.
