Man injured after armed cops fire gun during street lockdown in Stonehaven

A gun has been fired by police officers in Stonehaven, after armed officers locked down a street following reports of a 'disturbance'.

Officers were called to Hunter Place in the town at 12.40pm on Monday afternoon. A 31-year-old man has been arrested and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.

Police say that officers discharged a firearm during the incident and a taser was also deployed. Enquiries remain ongoing.A picture from the scene earlier showed a number of first response vehicles lining the street with a cordon put in place.Chief Superintendent Kate Stephen said: “Officers will be in the area as enquiries are carried out.
