Man in critical condition in hospital as police tape off house in north Manchester

Emergency services were called to a house on Denman Walk, in Cheetham Hill, at around 3.20am yesterday morning (Sunday). A man, aged 59, had been assaulted, police said.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains there in a critical condition. Another man, aged 67, was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

He remains in custody to be questioned by officers. A small police cordon was in place outside a row of houses in Denman Walk yesterday.
