A man has been left heartbroken after his beloved dog was mauled to death on a walk by German Shepherds. Ian Fields, 50, paid tribute to his Chihuahua, Luna, after the fatal attack, reports Grimsby Live.
The incident occurred last week in Grimsby whilst the 50-year-old was out walking the five-year-old dog. Ian says as he was putting something in a bin when the three German Shepherds unexpectedly appeared. He explained: "We were out walking Luna and our other dog, Stella, along Frederick Ward Way near the river.
I was just putting something in the bin when I heard the pitter patter of footsteps and turned to see these three German Shepherds."The girl walking them could have only been about 18 - bless her and there was no way she could've controlled all of them.
When I realised one of them had Luna in its mouth, I started punching it to get it to drop her."It all happened so quickly too, and as soon as I got her out I wrapped her in a towel and took her to my mum's which was only five minutes away.
