The victim - a man in his 40s - was attacked outside the New Tai Wah in Heaton Norris at around 8:10pm on Wednesday May 5 this year.

After being headbutted, he fell backwards and hit his head on the ground. READ MORE: Emergency services attended the scene on Belmont Street and he was taken to hospital.

He suffered facial injuries and a serious head injury which required lifesaving surgery, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
