Man goes on trial accused of trying to sexually assault woman at knifepoint

Jonathan Kabala, of Chadwick Street, The Haulgh, is on trial at Bolton Crown Court for kidnapping, kidnapping with intent to commit a sexual offence, threatening someone with a bladed article, and possession of a bladed article.The 41-year-old denies all charges.
Opening the prosecution case this morning (March 1) Jonathan Dickinson told the jury that the victim had been walking through Bolton town centre on the morning of October 2 2020.
After the woman turned from Bradshawgate onto Silverwell Street at 6.55am, Kabala started following her, according to Mr Dickinson.
