However, after receiving the 23 and Me ancestry kit, the American woman has now uncovered a shocking family secret that her mum has been keeping for the last 30 years.
In his Reddit post, the man said: "think I f***ed up by getting my girlfriend a DNA test for Christmas". He then goes on to explain that she had the gift early and got the results recently.
