A man has been found dead in a Cheshire woodlands. Firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire at Stanney Woods in Ellesmere Port in the early hours of Friday morning (June 3).
Police were called to the woodlands at around 12.50am following a report from the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. A man was found dead inside the vehicle, CheshireLive reports .
CheshireLive was told by a passing resident that the car park entrance to the woods was blocked by cones. There was also a heavy police presence as vehicles were parked up and the area was cordoned off. READ MORE: Driver rushed to hospital following crash outside pub A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 00.50hrs on Friday, June 3, 2022 Cheshire Fire and Rescue called police to Stanney Woods, Ellesmere Port.
A vehicle was on fire at the location. "A deceased adult male was found inside the vehicle. CID are making enquiries into the incident and to identify the deceased."
