A man was tragically found dead in his home just hours after being violently assaulted in Rochdale town centre on Monday (May 27).
Emergency services were called to a concern for welfare report at the property on Church Stile in Rochdale at around 8pm. The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was later established that he had been the victim of an assault in Rochdale town centre hours before, at around 3.30pm. The Manchester Evening News understands he managed to walk back home after he was beaten, near to the Interchange. It is understood that a murder investigation has since been ruled out. Two men were later arrested in connection with the assault, that took place in the town centre.
