Man fighting for life after moped crash following pursuit by officers on off-road bikes

The crash happened on Shuttle Street in the town, which is in the borough of Wigan, at around 4:45pm Officers riding on off-road bikes as part of an "anti-social behaviour operation" were following a man on an off-road moped when he "failed to stop at the officer's request" Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

The man, who is in his 20s, came off the moped near Century City chip shop. Emergency services raced to the scene, with the air ambulance seen landing nearby.
