Fire crews were scrambled to the Peel Park area at around 8.15pm last night (Saturday) to reports of a man in the water. A number of fire engines, a Technical Response Unit, Water Incident Unit and NWAS paramedics were all called to the scene. Firefighters were able to rescue him using specialist equipment. The man was then checked over by North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
