An Ohio man is going to spend the next half century behind bars after subjecting a woman to unspeakable crimes. Shane Edward Hooper was arrested last year in Marion County after locals observed what appeared to be a struggle between him and an unnamed female.

But things all changed one day in early June when he attempted to move “the victim to another location” — that’s “where observant individuals recognized her distress and contacted law enforcement.” The Marion County Sheriff’s Office quickly acted in a joint effort with the Marion, Ohio Police Department and discovered the victim and arrested Hooper.

The prosecutor revealed: Thank goodness for those good samaritans who called the cops! Hooper was charged with two counts each of rape, kidnapping, and felonious assault, and one count of strangulation.
