The 29-year-old beat off competition from teammate Raheem Sterling as well as Liverpool quartet Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.
While Liverpool raced to the Premier League title, De Bruyne was in a league of his own creatively and equalled Thierry Henry's competition for assists as he set up 20 goals.
After an injury-hit 2018/19 campaign, De Bruyne was back to his best under Pep Guardiola last season and has been given another accolade to go with the Premier League Player of the Season award he won last month.
