The veteran Spain defender has said his goodbyes at the Bernabeu, a surprise departure from Real Madrid after 16 years. Ramos had been unable to agree a new deal with the club unwilling to offer him the two-year contract that he wanted, and he will now be available on a free transfer from the beginning of July when his current deal ends.
City had been linked with the 35-year-old earlier this year amid speculation over his future but M.E.N Sport reported at the time that the Blues were not interested in pursuing a deal for Ramos.
