Finley Burns is set to become the third young Manchester City central defender to go out on loan this season. The 18-year-old, who made his senior debut in the 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe earlier this season, is about to join Swansea for the rest of the season.
His performance in that game saw him singled out for praise by Pep Guardiola, who likened the precision of his timing to a watch.
Burns was a key member of the under-23 side that won Premier League 2 last season and also featured Cole Palmer, Liam Delap and James McAtee.
So it was no surprise that he and fellow centre back Shea Charles were both signed up on new long-term contracts, aimed at keeping them until 2027 a fortnight ago.
