City's double-treble is gone but another successful season remains possible. To reach a second consecutive FA Cup final at Wembley they will have to overcome just two days of rest - plus additional travel compared to their opponents.
Having pushed themselves to the limit at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night it is a task even for the mighty Guardiola. "Maybe the toughest opponents we can face right now, with all respect to [Manchester] United and Coventry of course, but a really tough opponent," he said ahead of the game. "We travel and try to smell who feels better, who recovers better from the game against Madrid.
