straight to your inboxManchester City have brought in Manuel Pellegrini ’s former assistant Enzo Maresca as the new head coach of their elite development squad.The post was vacated in June by Paul Harsley, and the Blues have given the job to 40-year-old Italian Maresca, whose senior career started at West Brom but also took in Juventus – where he won Serie A in 2002, Fiorentina and Sevilla, with whom he won two Uefa Cups.The appointment is part of a re-structure of the City academy, with Carlos Vicens stepping up to be under-18 head coach - he was previously assistant to Gareth Taylor, who has taken the top job in the City women's team.The shuffle is set to be completed in October when former Feyenoord youth supremo Glenn van der Kraan is.
