Man City saw off the threat of Real Madrid to book their place in the Champions League quarter finals with a dominant display.
The hosts took an early lead after a glaring error from Raphael Varane allowed Gabriel Jesus to steal in and set up Raheem Sterling.
After a shaky start though Madrid began to find their groove and were soon rewarded when Karim Benzema nodded home Rodrygo's cross.
The game was tightly poised with Madrid needing one more to send it to extra time until another mistake cost the visitors. Jesus capitalised on Varane's poor headed backpass to slip the ball past Thibaut Courtois to score the winner and send City through.
