Man charged with murder after woman's body found at house

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman. Mariann Borocz was reported missing nine days before her body was found at a property in Pedder Street, Bolton, on Monday (December 23).

Police began searching for Ms Borocz after she went missing on December 14. Multiple police appeals were issued in a bid to help trace her.

Christopher Barlow, 61, of Pedder Street, Bolton, has now been charged with murder. He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Thursday, December 26) Detective Chief Inspector and Senior Investigating Officer Tony Platten, from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team, said: “On behalf of the entire investigation team, our condolences remain with Mariann’s family as they try to come to terms with her death. “Our investigation is moving at pace, and we are continuing to work hard to build a full timeline of events leading up to Mariann’s death. “As part of our investigation, we are once again appealing for additional information from the local community.
