Man charged in connection with serious assault in Edinburgh

A man has been arrested following an alleged serious assault which took place in Edinburgh more than two weeks ago. An investigation was launched by the police after a 36-year-old man was allegedly attacked in Cumnor Crescent in the capital on Saturday, January 7.Police said at the time the alleged victim had not been seriously injured in the incident, but officers were keen to trace those involved.

The man is due to appear at the city's sheriff court tomorrow, police said. A Police Scotland spokesperson said this evening: "We can confirm that a man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault that happened around 8.35pm in Cumnor Crescent, Edinburgh, on Saturday, 7 January, 2023.
