A man has been arrested and charged after a vehicle was “deliberately” driven at a person in Ayr. Police were called to Smith Street in the town centre following the incident which took place shortly before 7.15pm on Friday, January 3.Officers allege the motor - understood to be a car - was driven towards a 20-year-old man who was uninjured following the incident.A 65-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.15pm on Friday, January 3, police received a report a vehicle had been deliberately driven at a 20-year old male in Smith Street, Ayr. “The 20-year-old man was uninjured.“Officers attended and a 65-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
