manchestereveningnews.co.ukdirect to your inboxA man has been jailed after he was caught with £20,000 worth of class A drugs in his underwear at Manchester Airport.David Whyte, 40, was attempting to board a flight to Dubai when he caught the attention of security staff by attempting to avoid the queue for the body scanner.Whyte and a woman he was travelling with were noticed by staff near the screening area of the airport on the evening of October 6, 2019, before his scheduled flight to the UAE.Liverpool Crown Court was told how Whyte had been actively trying to avoid the queue for the body scanner, which is used to establish whether a physical search of a person is required.He was selected for a physical search where it became apparent to security staff that he had.
