Police were called to the park, off Stretford Road, at around 3.54pm on Tuesday (March 30). Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He remains in police custody. No one was hurt. A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 3.54pm yesterday (30 March 2021) police were called to a report of a man carrying a knife in Hulme Park. "Officers attended and a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place and remains in custody. "No one was injured."
