Manchester Crown Court heard. On one occasion, over £2,000 in VAT was paid into Michael Park’s account, then quickly withdrawn in a number of payments by Anthony and cash withdrawals, leaving Michael with £144.Due to this, Michael, of Ffarmers in Wales, was charged with one count of money laundering but was sentenced to a 12 month community order.Another member of the group, Darren Murray, who had created the companies, was due to appear but failed to attend as he told the court he was suffering with a chest infection.His sentence hearing will be later this month.Outlining the facts of the case, prosecutor James Rae said: “This revolves around a VAT fraud and Anthony Park, who either himself or using other people, including Darren Murray.
