A man has been arrested after being found carrying a huge knife in the street in Oldham. Officers on patrol were first called to Oldham Road in Failsworth earlier today.
There had been reports of a man with a knife, police sid. A 23-year-old man was stopped and searched at the scene. Police then discovered the large blade. He remains in police custody. Police shared a picture of the huge knife on GMP Traffic's Twitter account. Alongside the photo, an officer wrote: "Earlier today, #RPU patrols attended at Oldham Rd, #Failsworth to reports of a male with a knife. "A 23 year old male was stopped & searched and #arrested on suspicion of having possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody."
