Man arrested after reports of break in at Lidl supermarket as CSI descend on scene

A man was arrested after reports of a break in at a Lidl supermarket in Standish in the early hours of Thursday morning (January 4).

Police descended on the supermarket, on Preston Road in Standish at around 3.20am. It is understood the shop was closed with CSI teams at the scene throughout the morning.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 3.20am this morning (Thursday 4 January 2024), officers were called to reports of a burglary at a business premises on Preston Road, Standish. "A man in 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody for questioning."
