Police have arrested a man after a mother and her daughter were found stabbed to death in a house in London. Officers were called to a property in Brookside South in Barnet, North London, at around 1.37pm on Tuesday afternoon, June 21, after London Ambulance Service were alerted to an incident.
When the emergency services arrived, they discovered a 37-year-old woman and a child, believed to be aged five, with stab wounds.
Both were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Officers believe the victims and the suspect knew each other. Chief Superintendent Sara Leach, policing commander for the North West of London including Barnet, said: “The whole community will be shocked and saddened to hear of this terrible incident. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman and child who have died and also with the officers and paramedics who were first to arrive at what was an incredibly challenging scene. “Specialist detectives are working to establish what took place and a man is in custody.
