A man and a teenager have been charged after an alleged stabbing outside a nightclub in Glasgow on New Year's Day.Police launched an investigation after a 20-year-old man was injured in the incident at the Sanctuary nightclub at 1.45am on January 1, 2023.

He was taken from the scene to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after suffering serious injuries. His condition was previously described as "serious but stable".

A second 20-year-old male was also taken to the hospital following the incident but was released following treatment.Police locked down the area on New Year's Day, with crime scene investigators seen outside the club into the afternoon.

A 17-year-old and a 21-year-old were held in connection with the assault and are due to appear in court today, police confirmed.Police Scotland said: "Two men, aged 17 and 21 have been arrested and charged in connection with an assault that happened around 1.45 am on Sunday, January 1, outside sanctuary nightclub on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow.
