Man, 77, killed following road crash on A76 in Ayrshire

Police have launched an appeal for information after a crash which killed a pensioner in Ayrshire last night.The 77-year-old man died following the collision involving two cars on the A76 near Catrine.He was driving a Vauxhall Crossland when it collided with a Vauxhall Corsa being driven by a 30-year-old man at around 7.15pm.Police and an ambulance attended, however the 77-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.The 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart from Ayrshire's Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died following this crash. “Our investigation is ongoing and we would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information to contact us.
