Ayrshire Post: “In the week before lockdown I was made aware that staff at Ayr Hospital were experiencing problems due to panic buying.“Supermarkets were struggling to restock and medical staff reported they were having to trail round six different shops to get what they needed to feed their themselves and their families.“This, on top of dealing with the pandemic in their workplace, was causing extra stress on the staff.“I spoke to a neighbour who sells fruit, vegetables and soup at a farmers market from her Splendid, Soups and Such stall and she said she’d be up for taking the stall to Ayr Hospital.
After that we got meat supplier Alistair McIntyre from the Hairy Beasts team on board as well as Alison Kerr from the Coo Shed.”Jen’s husband.
