The majority of Scots don't know who they would back to be the next First Minister if Nicola Sturgeon stepped down, new research has found.
Around 64 per cent of voters have no view on who the next leader of the SNP should be, according to a Panelbase survey for The Sunday Times.
The research also concluded that 52 per cent would prefer if Sturgeon remained in position for the rest of this parliament. While 34 per cent of the 2,038 voters surveyed between November 9 and 15 wanted her to quit before then and 14 per cent weren't sure.The survey also found that Finance Secretary Kate Forbes was the most popular with voters as seven per cent would back her to take over as first minister.Among SNP voters she had a stronger 11 per cent.Other
